How it works for trades

Homeowners describe their job on MyTradeCrew. We check it, then send it to up to three crew members who cover that category and area. You get the type of work, postcode, timing and the homeowner’s description in their own words, plus their contact details. You call them, see the job if needed, and quote — in your name, under your licence, on your contract.

We cap it at three so you’re never one of twenty.

What it costs

No subscription and no joining fee. You pay a small lead fee for each job we send you — credited back if the details were wrong or the job wasn’t in your area or category — and a success fee when you win the job, payable after the customer’s first payment. The exact amounts are set out in the crew agreement we send you before you decide.

Homeowners never pay us, and your price to them is yours to set.

What we ask of the crew

  • A current NSW contractor licence in the class that covers the work you quote on
  • Current public liability insurance, and home building compensation cover where the job needs it
  • Contact the homeowner within one business day of receiving a job
  • Written quotes with your licence number and ABN, and a written contract for work over $5,000 including GST
  • Let us know when you win a job, so the homeowner isn’t chased by anyone else
  • Respect for the home, no pressure-selling, defects fixed under the statutory warranties

How we check

Before you join we verify your licence on the NSW Government register, sight your insurance certificates, confirm your ABN and call two recent customers. We re-check licences periodically and ask for updated insurance on renewal. It’s the same standard we tell homeowners about, which is what makes the introduction worth something.

Common questions from trades

Do I have to pay if I don’t win the job?

You pay the lead fee for each job we send you, whether or not you win it — that’s what covers the cost of finding the homeowner. If the homeowner’s details were wrong, or the job wasn’t in your area or category, it’s credited back. The success fee only applies when you win.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. The crew agreement is month to month and either side can end it with 30 days’ notice. Fees for jobs already sent or won still apply.

Who owns the customer?

You contract with the homeowner directly and keep the relationship. The agreement does ask that any work for a homeowner we introduced, at the same property within 12 months, is reported and attracts the success fee.

How many trades get each job?

No more than three. If you’re the only crew member covering that category and area, you may be the only one.
